A woman who set up a domiciliary care provider that is currently rated as ‘outstanding’ has become the first recipient of an award designed to showcase members of the profession making a difference in social care. Camille Leavold, Managing Director of Abbots Care, has been awarded the chief nurse’s adult social care gold award, in recognition of her outstanding work in organising high quality domiciliary care for older or disabled people throughout the pandemic. The award is the first of its kind and was launched last month by the chief nurse for adult social care Professor Deborah Sturdy.
